Aun Rak translates to warm love. Aun Rak is the feeling of wholeness, peace, and unity that love evokes. This is the name that Devin's mom gave to his aunt when she was building this resort.

Devin visited this resort often throughout his childhood. He would spend time with his cousins riding bikes through downtown Chiang Khan and enjoying the soothing sounds of the Kaeng Khut Khu rapids.

It was such a large part of his childhood, that he wanted to share his love of this region of Thailand with Leslie. This is where Devin proposed on June 15th, 2023 and they celebrated their engagement with extended family and many friends.

This is why we have chosen this resort as the destination for our wedding. We want to share this little piece of our history and allow our guests to experience the warmth of this region.

With that being said, there are a few things worth mentioning. Northern Thailand is poor compared to other parts of Thailand, and this town does not typically see many foreign tourists. The locals will only know basic English, so we recommend brushing up on basic Thai. Though the resort will do everything in its power to provide the best experience to its guests, please understand that Thai resorts in this region differ from resorts catered more towards foreign tourists. The buildings are constructed differently in Thailand than in the US and you may or may not have a gecko friend in your room at night. This is completely normal and you are safe.

Please consider these oddities a part of experiencing the Thai culture and way of life to its fullest.
