Welcome to the "Things to Do" tab! Each section is broken down by the cities we'll be visiting while in Thailand. If you plan on going to the same places and would like ideas on what to do, below are our recommendations.
WAT ARUN
Wat Arun is a popular temple to visit for photos. There are multiple vendors just outside the temple grounds that will fit patrons in traditional Thai outfits for pictures inside the temple.
CENTRAL WORLD
Central, as most people call it, is a multi-story shopping center that also has a nice food court on the first floor. They also have areas where vendors sell fresh foods and fruits outside the food court area.
YAOWARAT ROAD
A popular street food destination located in Bangkok's Chinatown. Yaowarat road also has lot of street vendors that sell items such as fabrics, knick-knacks, and jewelry.
SKY BAR
Not necessarily a popular destination, but this upscale rooftop bar also serves food. It was also a filming location for The Hangover Part II (helicopter scene).
RAJADAMNERN AND LUMPINEE STADIUM
These are the two most famous Muay Thai stadiums in Thailand. Rajadamnern stadium usually has fights lined up every night of the week. Lumpinee stadium does not have fights as often, but it is partnered with ONE Championship.
PHU THOK
Phu Thok, also known as the "Sea of Mist Viewing Point", is a mountain near the resort. You can either hike or be bussed the 1400 feet to the peak of the mountain. Depending on when you get to the peak, you'll either see a heavy fog that settles on Chiang Khan like a "sea of mist" or the beautiful landscape and the Mekong River which divides Thailand from Laos.
WALKING STREET
This is what Chiang Khan is most known for. The walking street is a stretch of road dedicated to various types of vendors. You can walk or rent a bicycle to explore this area. There is also a section called the Night Walking Street that is active evenings on the weekends.
KAENG KHUT KHU
This landmark is a short walking distance from the resort. You'll find a large statue of a large-nosed man holding a crossbow. This is a reference to the mythology of the formation of the island in the middle of the Mekong River. In this area, you will also find a small market to explore.
COFFEE & DESSERT SHOPS
Throughout Chiang Khan are cute coffee and dessert shops. Some have unique environments and art, and some have a stunning view of the river.
ISLAND HOPPING
A lot of tourists enjoy island hopping while in Krabi. There are plenty of neighboring islands that offer beautiful beaches and even some that have resorts. The following islands are a few of the most popular; Railay Beach, Ko Phi Phi, Ko Poda, and Ko Kai.
HIKING
If you're interested in hiking, there are a number of scenic trails around Krabi. Dragon Crest Mountain is a hike set in a national park about 30-40 minutes north of Krabi. It offers scenic views and a challenging hike that takes 2-3 hours to summit.
The Monkey Trail is a short hike through the Krabi jungle from Ao Nang beach to the secluded Pai Plong Beach. It's a short 15 minute hike that offers views of beautiful beaches and of course monkeys. Please keep in mind that monkeys can be very aggressive when threatened.
Wat Tham Suea or Tiger Cave Mountain Temple is an infamous temple northeast of Krabi known for its tall Buddha statues and a strenuous flight of stairs used to reach the summit.
NIGHT MARKET
If you're interested in shopping for gifts or street food, there are a few markets worth checking out. Ao Nang Night Market and Krabi Night Market are the two largest in the area.
